Life Is Great at Coral Caye in Placida, Florida

March 23

Life truly is tranquil for the residents of Coral Caye in Placida, Florida, because even though they may live on the mainland, they are close to the beauty of coastal waterways, the solitude of nearby state parks and preserves, and are just minutes from exclusive Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island.

Gasparilla Island is one of the Gulf Coast’s barrier islands that is separated from the mainland by both Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound. Boca Grande has seven miles of beaches that are lined with white sand and seashells, plus the most beautiful water on the Gulf Coast. This area is not as well known as other Florida destinations like Sarasota and Fort Myers, but that is what makes it even more valuable to the locals.

For first time visitors, a trip to the historic Port Boca Grande Lighthouse and Museum located on the southern tip of the island is a “must see.” The lighthouse was built in 1890 and is the oldest structure on the island. In 1980, it was added to the National Register of Historic Buildings and the five-room museum opened in 1999. It is the best place to learn about the history of Charlotte Harbor.

Don Pedro ParkThe 230-acre Don Pedro State Park is across from Coral Caye and is accessible by boat or ferry. You can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, or shelling on the park’s gulf side. The park also has a fishing dock, kayak launch, nature trails and picnic shelters.

Nearby Cayo Costa State Park is a 2,426-acre island that people visit throughout the year to watch dolphins and manatees swimming in the water surrounding the island. Visitors can only reach this island by boat or ferry. The nine miles of beaches are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing in the sun. There are plenty of nature trails on the island, so people can see the pine forests, oak-palm hammocks, and mangrove swamps while hiking.

Living at Coral Caye also offers easy access to numerous waterways, and there are so many fun activities to be enjoyed without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of a big city. There are not many places like it – where you can spend time at the beach during the day and then head to a concert or the theater at night.

Condo To Single Family Home

September 21

For the last few years, a part-time resident in our area rented a condo seasonally, and she enjoyed the sun, the condo community and everything the Florida lifestyle has to offer.

But, as she planned for upcoming years, she realized she wanted to live in a home where she had room to entertain family and friends. She also wanted the security and enjoyment of living in a gated, low maintenance, single-family-home community — a location where she could continue to enjoy the nearby waterways and nature preserves, where she would have more square footage, would feel comfortable and secure, and wouldn’t have to spend hours manicuring the lawn.

“As I was biking along the edge of the Amberjack State Park, I came around a turn and in the distance I saw construction workers building the clubhouse and pool at Coral Caye,” said the new owner. “I loved the area and was curious to learn what this new community had to offer. When I stopped by, I saw that it actually backed up to the park and had a gated entrance, and all the homes were low-maintenance. I became very interested because it offered what I had envisioned for my next home.”

She added, “Ultimately, I purchased the Tobago model and became the first Coral Caye homeowner. I really enjoyed knowing the clubhouse and pickleball courts were already completed. I’m looking forward to having cocktails with friends by the clubhouse pool.”

“Our homes include quality features that today’s buyers expect to find when they purchase a newly constructed home, such as gourmet kitchens and luxurious bathrooms, classic colonial moldings and custom wood windowsills, designer ceramic tile floors, plush stainresistant carpeting in designer colors, and numerous energy saving features,” development partner Dan Beychok said.

“I enjoyed making selections for everything in my new home because it will reflect my personal taste and lifestyle,” the new owner said. “I chose Cambria natural stone counters that I love. Everything was built to the best standards because Dan and his team, including Marcy and Ray, are always on-site overseeing every stage of construction.”

Prices start in the low $300,000s and there are no CDD fees. Visit the beautiful furnished models and clubhouse today. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (941) 698- 9200 or visit CoralCaye.net.

From The Island To Coral Caye - Florida Weekly Article

Coral Caye Placida, Cape Haze, Boca Grande CommunitySee why everyone is excited to join our growing community.

Dick and Bonnie Slomkowski have lived on Boca Grande for over 19 years and say they have loved it – the sun, the people and everything the Florida lifestyle has to offer. But, as they looked at their goals for the future, they realized they wanted to live in a home where they had room to entertain family and friends, but was located in a setting that was more secluded and gated.

“At the recommendation of a close friend, we visited Coral Caye and instantly fell in love with the design of the homes and size of the community,” said Dick. “Their attention to detail and craftsmanship sold us. The community had everything we were looking for, and the low maintenance aspect was a huge bonus. We continue to be impressed with the expertise and personal care shown by the developer and Coral Caye team.”

Dick further commented, “We’re looking forward to moving into our new home. We selected the Belize model with the courtyard pool and extra cabana suite. It’s great that the community clubhouse and pool, fitness facility, and pickle ball courts are all completed because we can start using them as soon as we make our move. We will enjoy socializing with our new Coral Caye neighbors, but we’ll still be close to our island friends and all the nearby attractions and activities we have enjoyed for the past 19 years.”

Coral Caye offers the perfect, serene “Old Florida” location situated along the Placida/Cape Haze corridor. Just outside its gates are a wide variety of world class offshore and back bay fishing spots, local marinas and outfitters, nearby championship golf courses, and beautiful beaches and parks.

There are only 95 low-maintenance homesites available, all of which back up to either a preserve or water feature. Seventeen have already sold from November to March. Introductory pricing starts in the $300,000’s, and there are no CDD fees. The introductory offer will expire soon. Two luxuriously furnished models and the clubhouse are open Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. For more information, call 941-698-9200 or visit www.CoralCaye.net.

Article: New Low-Maintenance Homes - Boca Grande, Placida

New Construction Venice, Cape Haze, Placida, Boca Grande

We're thrilled to see our progress noted in the Florida Weekly newspaper.

It’s rare to find an opportunity to own a single-family home, not a condo or villa, and still be able to enjoy the convenience of living in a low-maintenance community. It is even more rare to find one that also offers upscale amenities. Fortunately, it’s readily available at Coral Caye in Placida. Located just south of Venice and two miles north of Boca Grande, the Coral Caye community is attracting buyers who want the amenities found in a new custom home coupled with lush tropical landscaping – without all the yard work. These homeowners prefer to enjoy the great boating, world class fishing, and nearby golf courses, or swimming at one of the local beaches.

With only 95 homesites, all of which back up to either a preserve or water feature, buyers are discovering an Old Florida serenity that only the Placida/Boca Grande corridor can offer. It’s what everyone moves to Florida to enjoy. Buyers are also looking for a gated community without CDD fees that allows them to really enjoy their home and the community amenities. They also like the idea that they can simply lock up and head off on a trip knowing the quality construction and low-maintenance amenities ensure their home will be just as they left it when they return.

“We have buyers who are seasonal residents living in a condo, but they now plan to make Florida their permanent residence and want to live in a single-family home. We also have buyers who have lived in the area for years and own a large home, but are ready to downsize to a smaller, new home with less maintenance requirements,” said Dan Beychok, a development partner.

Coral Caye offers six different British West Indies inspired 3 bedroom/3bath or 2 bedroom/2 bath floor plans. Introductory pricing starts in the $300,000’s, and there are no CDD fees. The luxurious clubhouse, tropical community pool, well equipped fitness center, and pickleball courts are completed and ready for residents’ enjoyment.
